The student working on this project is:
Amir Hossein Farzaneh (Ph.D. student; Graduated in Summer 2020)

Object Detection, Recognition, and Tracking

Develop a novel algorithm to detect, recognize, and track a certain target, such as car, pedestrian, and face.

The students working on this project are:
Swathi Rajashekar (M.S. student; Graduated in Spring 2012)
Mahammad Reza Faraji (Ph.D. student; Graduated in Spring 2015)

Image Registration

Develop an efficient image registration technique to align a pair of RGB and NIR images.

The student working on this project is:
Amir Hossein Farzaneh (Ph.D. student; Graduated in Summer 2020)

Content-Based Image/Video Retrieval

Develop an efficient system to retrieve relevant images from large image databases based on automatically derived imagery features and learned semantic correlation between images. These features are typically extracted from shape, texture, or color properties of the query image and images in the database. The semantic correlation between images is normally learned based on the user's relevance feedback.

The students working on this project are:
Yutao Han (M.S. student; Graduated in Fall 2005)
Hongxing Zheng (M.S. student; Graduated in Spring 2006)
Ran Chang (Ph.D. student; Graduated in Fall 2013)

Digital Watermarking

Develop an efficient image watermarking technique to be used for intellectual property rights protection. The embedded watermark should be unobtrusive and robust. Currently, we mainly focus on the robustness against geometric attacks and semi-fragile watermarks.

The students working on this project are:
Ji Qi (M.S. student; Graduated in Fall 2005)
Stephen Bialkowski (B.S. student; Graduated in Summer 2007)
Xing Xin (M.S. student; Graduated in Spring 2010)
Jiyuan Wang (M.S. student; Graduated in Spring 2012)

Orthorectification and Mosaicing

Develop an efficient orthorectification and mosaicing technique to generate a map for a set of aerial images in near real-time. Currently, we mainly focus on feature points-based matching and projective homograph techniques.

The student working on this project is:
Mohammad Reza Faraji (Post-doctoral scholar; 2016)

Activity Recognition

Develop an efficient technique to recognize activities using smartwatches. Currently, we mainly focus on decision tree techniques.
