About these web pages

All of my web pages were created with XEmacs with the PSGML package. They have all been validated against the HTML 4.01 spec using the onsgmls tool, and against the CSS 2.1 spec using the CSS Validator. I originally wrote these web pages using XHTML, but quickly found that Internet Explorer is badly broken. In the interest of letting my students actually view these web pages, I downgraded to HTML 4.01. They still look ugly in Internet Explorer, due to its buggy CSS support, but at least they are visible. If you want my pages to look good, don't use Internet Explorer. They're standards compliant, after all, not horribly mashed to look good in IE.

Various people think I need to display icons on my web pages. Rather than put this gaggle of icons everywhere, I have collected them here.
